PETER STREIT
PETER STREITPersonal Trainer

I have been extremely blessed to live and work in my passions all of my adult life.

I started training and competing in bodybuilding over 30 years ago. I was the typical weakling with no athletic ability and 6 feet tall and 150 pounds.

For me bodybuilding was just like breathing. It was what I wanted and had to do! And it set me on a life’s path. I fell in love with knowing everything that made the body and mind stronger, bigger, healthier. I had a voracious appetite for all knowledge about exercise, nutrition, and motivation.

I studied anatomy, physiology, and nutrition at SUNY Albany. I joined the Navy as a corpsman and was FMT (Field Medical Tech) trained in combat medicine with the Marines. After 3 years of active duty I worked as a nurse, for a year. Then I decided I wanted to work in the proactive side of health. I was born and raised here in Tampa area. I moved to upstate New York with my family for a few years. I moved back here in 1986 and started working in health clubs. I trained people and counseled them on nutrition. At the same time, I was training and competing in bodybuilding myself. I had gone from 150lbs. to 250 lbs. In five short years. And I won several titles during my competitive years. After working in health clubs for a few months I decided to start training people on my own. It was a new business in 1986 and I was one of the original 26 trainers and doctors that formed and started the N.A.S.M. (National Academy of Sports Medicine). Trainer certification. I thought I knew so much! On one hand, I did but on the other I still had much more to learn. Being a great trainer requires knowledge, patience, understanding, compassion and a true deep genuine interest in knowing the person you are training. After a lifetime of experience working with all ages, all athletic skill levels and all conditions of health. I like to think I have honed some of these skills. I absolutely love what I do and the people I work with!
